Shakeera tells us a little about herself and the power of therapy.
Shakeera T., MSW, LCSWA
Feeling lost in the transition into adulthood or a new season of life? Juggling career goals, relationships, and personal growth can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to figure it out alone. As an empowerment and resiliency specialist, I work with young adults in their 20s and 30s who are navigating this exciting (yet chaotic) journey. Together, we’ll build stress-management strategies, boost resilience, and find a clear sense of direction and purpose.
I offer a safe, judgment-free space where you can be real about your thoughts and feelings on your future, career choices, relationships, and personal growth. My therapeutic approach is tailored to your individual needs, incorporating evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness techniques.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, but it’s actually a sign of strength and self-awareness. If you're ready to start your journey towards a more fulfilling and balanced life, let’s get this started! Connect today, and turn these challenges into opportunities for growth and success.
My Experience
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Associate. I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology from the Illustrious North Carolina A&T State University. Then, I achieved my Master’s in Social Work from the Joint Master of Social Work Program as well. I have previous experience in outpatient therapy, ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapy, and Family-Centered therapy. Together, my clients and I tackle similar struggles such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and life adjustments.
When I’m not in therapist mode, I’m...
Working out, spending time with friends and family, and traveling. I’m also a foodie! I love to find new restaurants and places to enjoy.
