Ashlin M., Clinical Intern

Do you feel overwhelmed, stressed, and on edge? Maybe everything is heavy as if your clothes are dragging you to the floor. You have a sea of emotions swirling around, but you are not even sure how to describe what you are feeling or why. All you know is that it's time to calm the storm. Having a passion for working with an array of individuals, my aim is to meet you where you are and act as a helping guide toward their healing journey. Together, we can explore your attachment style, love language, cognitive distortions, and core beliefs to get to the core of you and who you want to be. I serve an array of individuals ranging from teens to adults who are experiencing life adjustments and chronic illness. Additionally, I have received specialized training from OCD specialist Brandie Terifaj to support individuals dealing with mood and anxiety disorders, including panic disorder, OCD, and Bipolar disorder. By utilizing CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and body-centered psychotherapy, in sessions with me, you’ll find a safe, collaborative space that enables you to explore your inner self, rewrite your story, and ultimately find your peace.

My Experience

Completing my last year of graduate school at UNCW, I am expected to graduate in May of 2024 with a Master of Clinical Social Work. I have previous clinical experience working with human trafficking survivors, victims of crime, immigrants, sexual assault survivors, and veterans. In addition to my work at Solace, I currently intern with the VA Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program in Jacksonville, NC which serves individuals experiencing PTSD, bipolar disorder, OCD, and schizophrenia.

When I’m not in therapist mode, I’m...

Vibing at the beach, playing with my pup, attempting a new recipe, or playing board games with friends.

*Ashlin offers a $40 session rate for all new clients and conducts all her sessions virtually.
