Ashlin describes her therapy style and those she works best with.

Ashlin M., MSW, LCSWA

Your thoughts feel inescapable, looping in a cycle that takes hold and won’t let go. You've noticed this is impacting you, your day, your mood, and even your relationships. You feel the anxiety, OCD, or trauma in your bones and want to explore their effects. You want change but aren't sure where to start. Together, we can work on escaping the quicksand of your mind. My specialty is working with individuals who struggle with unpacking themselves, honoring their needs, and being present in the now. We can utilize boundaries, love languages, and core values to gain deeper insight into the how and why of your thought patterns and feelings. Then, we can work on the you that you want and DESERVE to be.

I am passionate about supporting adults navigating OCD, high anxiety, trauma, chronic illness, self-critique, and relationship challenges. I understand how isolating these experiences can be, and I strive to create a space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered. To provide the best possible care, I am committed to ongoing specialized training and supervision, particularly in OCD and phobias. My approach is individualized and eclectic, drawing from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and body-centered psychotherapy.

In our sessions, you'll find a safe and collaborative space where you feel supported in becoming the version of yourself that you deserve. Together, we’ll explore your inner world, untangle your worries, and guide you toward your peace.

My Experience

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate and obtained my Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of therapeutically collaborating with women struggling with motherhood and infertility, veterans, individuals with chronic and terminal illnesses, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Additionally, I have specialized clinical experience working with human trafficking survivors, victims of crime, immigrants, and survivors of sexual assault.

When I’m not in therapist mode, I’m...

Cuddling my precious pup and co-therapist- Clementine, trying a new cooking or baking recipe, crotcheting, immersing into a cozy game, or swimming in the ocean with friends.
