Kaitlyn P., LCSWA
Having to endure life’s storms without a sounding board can be a challenging and uncomfortable place to be in. You may feel isolated and misunderstood by feeling like you have no one you can trust or turn to without receiving judgment or unsolicited advice. A small but mighty step in this journey might be accepting that you deserve support and care that meets you exactly where you are in life. I’m here to remind you that it takes courage to recognize when you need help taking care of yourself, especially when you take care of everything and everybody else.
I offer a compassionate, yet knowledgeable approach. As your therapist, I recognize the difficulty in finding our grounding when it feels like it’s just us against the world. Along the way, let’s explore what advocacy and empowerment tools help you challenge the worldly systems that are barriers to accessing your true power. Together, we can create a safe space for facing complex and cultural challenges that support breakthroughs, healing, and growth.
Together, we will challenge and restructure negative thought patterns by practicing positive affirmations, mindfulness, and lots of self-care that model healthy self-esteem. If you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, and stress, I got you. Let’s refocus by setting healthy boundaries, making time for you, and having some fun along this journey.
My Experience
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate. I obtained my Bachelor of Psychology at UNC Greensboro. I also earned my Master’s of Social Work at North Carolina A&T. I have experience working with individuals of vulnerable communities. I am passionate and dedicated to working with Black women and people with marginalized identities.
With CBT, Mindfulness, Somatic techniques, and Solution-Focused therapies, I use an intersectional theoretical framework to ensure I am approaching therapy with cultural awareness. Overall, my ideal client is someone who is motivated for change, open-minded, and willing to put in the work for self-reflection and growth.
When I’m not in Therapist Mode, I’m…
Spending time with friends and family, binge-watching reality TV, trying new restaurants in Charlotte, cooking a recipe I found online, browsing in TJ Maxx and HomeGoods, or playing video games (Sims 4 is my favorite!).
Kaitlyn talks a little about her favorite type of clients and therapeutic approach!
