Ta Nisha W., MSW, LCSWA

Each morning you wake up and there is rarely anything that excites you about your day. You hardly experience extreme emotions and would typically consider yourself “even-keeled.” While you may pride yourself in not letting things get you angry or out of character, you often notice that the truly joyful parts of life evade you as well. You may be dealing with emotional numbness, and there’s a good chance that it is preventing you from fully being present and a thoughtful participant in your life. Our work will focus on figuring out what event(s) led you to this point, appropriately addressing them, and, together, determining the best ways to safely reconnect with your emotions without you feeling like you are going to lose control.

Now part of you may be saying that you don’t meet the “typical” criteria for therapy because your life is “okay” or even picture perfect, but you’ve known for a while that something has been “off.” Moreover, that part of you that is holding you back from taking that next step is probably been persuaded by decades of misinformation and/or your ego attempting to cheat you out of the fulfilling life you deserve. It’s time to reconnect!

While I am passionate about my practice, it’s important for you to know that I am big on collaboration and won’t do the work for you. You deserve a therapist that will create a brave space for you to explore the hard parts of life, keep you accountable, and support you on your journey to (re)claim your most fulfilling life. I’m here to be that person for you!

My Experience

I secured my Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and hold associate licensure as a Clinical Social Worker..

When I'm not in therapist mode, I'm...

spending a considerable amount of my free time going down Google rabbit holes exploring the random/intriguing questions that pop in my head. This is second only to spending time with my partner, family, friends, and contemplating why the subliminal messaging in Disney movies hit so close to home.
